Four types are present in large proportions in the dermis, alongside hyaluronic acid and elastin: Collagens I, III, IV, and VII. Each has its own specific characteristics: Collagen I, for example, is very rigid and ensures firmness. Collagen III is much more flexible and is THE most abundant collagen in babies, giving their skin its plump appearance.
BUT WITH AGE, the quantity and quality of collagen deteriorate:
